Frieze Art Fair 2008
It's October so it was time for the Frieze Art Fair this weekend.
For me, going to Frieze is about finding a few pieces that grab my attention... this usually involves long walks up and down the long aisles scanning the exhibits. Tiring work. The result of my efforts are on show below in the form of some happy snaps.
I was expecting to see some work on show by street artists considering they've been selling so well at aucton - so was surprised not to see anything. Nothing. I thought Frieze was set up to showcase contemporary art and culture?
Of course, as a part of Blank No More, I was naturally drawn towards any prints on show and they don't get much better than the beautifully detailed 1960's screen prints by Eduardo Paolozzi. As you can hopefully see by the close ups, these prints are technically brilliant but the collective impact of all the prints on show was something else. Seeing his work in books or on the web just doesn't do them justice. Those of you in London may be familiar with his work unknowingly in the form of the mosaics in Tottenham Court underground station.

The other highlight for me was the sculpture garden, helped by the glorious October sunshine we're having.

Even the smokers took part in some installation art...
